This afternoon, the fighters on the UFC 226 bill partook in some tense media day staredowns. One of the best of the bunch came courtesy of welterweight knockout artist “Platinum” Mike Perry, and beefed-up lightweight striker Paul Felder, who replaces the injured Yancy Medeiros on short notice.
During this staredown, Perry unleashed a bombardment of trash talk on the surprisingly much larger Felder. He received little more than an icy stare in return. See this tense staredown above (video via MMA Fighting).
Mike Perry to Paul Felder: You ready to be a full-time commentator?

Originally, Paul Felder and Mike Perry were supposed to battle on the UFC 226 undercard. When UFC featherweight champion Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway was forced out of co-main event title fight with challenger Brian Ortega, however, the pair were pushed up to main card duty. Given their shared history for violent knockouts, they’re more than likely to kick off the pay-per-view in style.
Perry last fought in February, when he gave up a decision to Max Griffin. In his next most recent fight, he lost a decision to surging welterweight contender Santiago Ponzinibbio. He’s 11-3 in sum.
Felder, who was recently linked to a UFC Boise scrap with James Vick, is on a three-fight streak, having recently bested Alessandro Ricci, Stevie Ray and Charles Oliveira. All of these wins have come by knockout or TKO. He’s 15-3 overall.
