Earlier this week reports surfaced that the UFC was actively looking to book Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor II for UFC 200 in July. According to sources, both sides had verbally agreed to a welterweight bout on the July 9th card, however nothing was made official. With that being said, Diaz’s strength and conditioning coach Jose Garcia posted on Facebook in regards to the bout, leading many to believe that the bout will be made official soon.

Given that, many wondered if the UFC would book a rematch between the two men, however Diaz stated that there were many times in his career that he wanted a rematch and didn’t get it. With that being said, according to a report from MMAFighting, we may get to see a rematch after all.

The kid makes really good money. And the unfortunate part is, he’s not a needle mover. His brother (Nick Diaz) is a needle mover, he’s not.” The younger Diaz proved that to be wrong at UFC 196. With just ten days notice, Nate Diaz stepped in to fight UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor in an exciting non-title welterweight bout. White claimed after the fight that it was the most bought UFC PPV event in the company’s history.

Diaz says many in the other world of combat sports has very little knowledge about mixed martial arts and what he could do to them in the boxing ring. “I see a lot of boxers stating their opinions, which is the most irritating,” Diaz told Rolling Stone. “They’re stating their opinion on what’s what. All those boxers who are talking all this shit on me, on my skills in the ring and in the cage, too – I’ll whoop those boxers’ asses at boxing. I’ve sparred in pro boxing gyms. I would have already been a pro boxer if I wasn’t locked in contracts forever. I would have been boxing. I’d fucking do that shit.”
