Pro Wrestler The Miz Wants Conor McGregor in the WWE

Justin Golightly - August 22, 2017

Win or lose, Conor McGregor can probably do whatever he wants after he boxes Floyd Mayweather. He always has a home making money for the UFC. If he doesn’t lose too terribly to Mayweather, he can even box Paul Malignaggi. He even could step into a different type of ring and take up pro wrestling. Ronda Rousey didn’t earn any WWE championships, but she did get to execute a judo throw on Triple H while sharing the ring with The Rock. If she wanted to though, she could have probably taken over the pro wrestling world. Current WWE Intercontinental champion, The Miz thinks that McGregor has that type of potential as well. “I love the hype. Huge fan of hype. McGregor can talk the talk, he can walk the walk. But I think he’s going to come up a little short going up against Mayweather. Oh my God, he’d be great [in the WWE]. He’s a mouth, so absolutely. Why not? Sure [I’d wrestle McGregor]. All day. Knock him out in one punch.”

Take it as you may, but whether you like it or not, this isn’t the first time Conor McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh has mentioned something about a “push” on social media. On Monday, Kavanagh posted a photo of himself with his back on the canvas wearing boxing gloves as “The Notorious” stood above looking down on the pioneer that helped put Irish MMA on the map.

Floyd Mayweather Worried 'Extremely Heavy' Conor McGregor Will Miss Weight

Justin Golightly - August 22, 2017

Floyd Mayweather is worried. Not about Conor McGregor’s mid-combat trash talk, now about his sniper left hand, not about the possibility of McGregor cheating, he’s worried about his weight. Sitting outside of his gym talking to Fight Hype after drinking a ‘light shake’, he expressed his concern that his opponent is an ‘extremely heavy’ 164lbs right now. He’s not too worry about it though, as long as he gets a percentage of McGregor’s purse if he does in fact not make the 154lb limit. How do you look this good at 40? Only Floyd knows! @FloydMayweather pic.twitter.com/yD2FkUV0NB

Other UFC fighters are promoting the fight on their respective social media platforms, there are no UFC cards until the boxing match is over, the Nevada State Athletic Commission even threw out their rules, and The Killers recorded a second music video of a song specifically for McGregor vs. Mayweather.  What is it now, you ask? It’s Demi Lovato singing the National Anthem. Excited to have #Grammy nominated and multi-platinum global artist @ddlovato sing the National Anthem at #MayweatherMcGregor! pic.twitter.com/pjV1EPXqtG

Kevin Lee trashes "weird" and "not smart" UFC 216 opponent Tony Ferguson

Tom Taylor - August 22, 2017

Earlier this month, we learned that top lightweight contender Tony Ferguson would be fighting Kevin Lee – not the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov – for the UFC interim lightweight title at UFC 216 this October 7. It did not take long for Lee to start bashing his surprising UFC 216 opponent – and Nurmagomedov. “I’m going to beat the fuck out of Tony,” Lee said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour (h/t MMAMania) “Look, we can take away all the vision, all that, I am going to beat the fuck out of Tony. The man disrespected me, I don’t take that shit. The dude is weird, he’s not that smart. I’m going to crush him in every press conference — or conference call — that we got because the man is really not that smart.”

We’re now just days out from Conor McGregor‘s blockbuster boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr., and it’s all anybody can talk about. There was a time not all that long ago, however, when the fight itself seemed like a near impossibility; a fantastical dream fight too bogged down by bureaucracy and complicated negotiations to actually happen. But then it did. Almost out of nowhere, reports began to surface suggesting that the deal was almost done, and then, on June 14, it was official.

I leave for only five days and come back to his ass wanting (and able) to roll! Unbelievable! Spare me the grappling lessons. The only things that are important: firing muscles that haven’t been used in a long time…and having fun! So awesome to see that smile and hear that laugh again. Official Mayweather vs McGregor fight card, start time, and how to watch

Russell Ess - August 21, 2017

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will be stepping into the boxing ring on Saturday, August 26, to fight under the Queensberry rules in what is expected to break the record as the richest fight in combat sports. Back in 2015, Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao set the bar high with over 4 million pay-per-view buys in a fight that many fans were left unimpressed by the action in the ring from the two boxing superstars. Both Mayweather and McGregor have said leading up to their mega-million dollar boxing match that they are going to bring the fight come August 26. Interestingly, Mayweather’s challenge to bend the standard rules and change the glove size from 10-oz gloves to 8-oz gloves are giving some fans more hope in the fight not ending with a judge’s decision.

First man to defeat Conor McGregor auctioning off shorts worn on fight night

Russell Ess - August 21, 2017

On June 28, 2008, Conor McGregor tasted defeat for the first time in his professional mixed martial arts career. It was just his third professional fight, which was at COT 3 in Dublin, Ireland where “The Notorious” met Artemij Sitenkov in the cage and was submitted with a kneebar in the very first first round. Fast forward to present-day and the two former opponents have walked down completely different paths in their mixed martial arts careers. McGregor, now holding a 21-3 professional MMA record is less than a week away from potentially setting a new record with Floyd Mayweather for the richest fight in combat sports and is expected to make over $100 million dollars if the record is achieved. Sitenkov, on the other hand, now with a 15-16 professional MMA record, is making headlines with auctioning the fight shorts he wore the night he beat McGregor on eBay where half of the proceeds will go towards a charity.

Floyd Mayweather is less than one week out from returning to the boxing ring after coming out of retirement to fight current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in the boxing ring. Mayweather, now 40-years-old, has stated numerous times in the buildup to this fight that he certainly isn’t the same boxer he was 10 years ago and admitted he isn’t even the same boxer from just two years ago. However, Mayweather has stated that although not the same man he once was, he still has was it takes to beat Conor McGregor in the boxing ring.

Former sparring partner of Conor McGregor talks about another boxer's real 'scary' power

Russell Ess - August 21, 2017

After his first sparring session with Conor McGregor, Paulie Malignaggi said that McGregor’s punching power was good, but it wasn’t something that really blew his mind. Perhaps that was the wrong thing to say after their first session as things turned sour after their second sparring session and Malignaggi removed himself from helping in the training camp.

Alexander Gustafsson denies reports of Jon Jones fight

Tom Taylor - August 21, 2017

Earlier today, Swedish MMA publication MMANytt reported that a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and challenger Alexander Gustafsson was in the works for UFC 218, which is scheduled for December 2 in Detroit, Michigan. BREAKING | Lyoto Machida returns to the Octagon at UFC Sao Paulo

Tom Taylor - August 21, 2017

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, who also contended for the title at middleweight, has not been seen in the cage since June of 2015, when he was smashed to a third-round TKO by the ever-dangerous Yoel Romero. The reason for the former champ’s prolonged absence is an unfortunate USADA-administered suspension stemming from his admitted but inadvertent use of the banned substance 7-Keto-DHEA. Luckily, Machida’s 18-month sit has almost reached its expiration date, and he is now set to return when the UFC touches down in Sao Paulo Brazil this October 28. His opponent will be dangerous American middleweight contender Derek Brunson. This fight was announced by UFC Brasil on Twitter.
