Tom Aspinall stepped in on very short notice, due to the cancelation of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic. In round 1, he floored the Russian to score a first-round TKO victory to earn the gold in stunning fashion.

Former Bellator lightweight champion Patricky Pitbull is just as unsure of the company’s future as anyone. The Brazilian has been out of the cage since a knockout win over Roberto de Souza in July. That was a nice rebound win for Patricky Pitbull, having lost his lightweight gold to Usman Nurmagomedov in his prior outing. With the win at Bellator X RIZIN 2, he advanced to the lightweight Grand Prix semifinals.

Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III will be running it back. Mayweather and Gotti III boxed in June and the fight was stopped and ruled a No Contest after the two continued to trash talk one another instead of actually boxing. After the two weren’t listening to the ref and continued to go at one another, the fight was stopped, which caused chaos as both teams jumped into the ring and a brawl started.

Brendan Allen and Paul Craig had an intense final faceoff ahead of their UFC Vegas 82 main event fight. Allen enters the fight as a sizeable betting favorite, but in the lead-up, both have been oozing with confidence that they will finish one another. At the faceoff, Craig got right into Allen’s face, so the American told him to keep the same energy on fight night and not just be pulling guard which is a move Craig does often.

Strickland emerged as the new UFC middleweight champion.

Strickland became the middleweight champion back in September with a decision win over Israel Adesanya. Since then, UFC CEO Dana White said that the winner of Khamzat Chiamev vs. Kamaru Usman in October would be next in line for Strickland’s title.

Having been out of the cage since his trilogy with Dustin Poirier in July 2021, Conor McGregor famously broke his leg in that bout. Due to the injury, and his exit from the USADA testing pool, he’s been on a lengthy hiatus.

There, the two headed in hoping to potentially score a future title shot. For his part, Johnny Walker entered the matchup riding a three-fight winning streak. Meanwhile, Magomed Ankalaev hadn’t been seen since a draw against Jan Blachowicz last December.

Now, the lightweight contender is set to face ‘The Dream’ this Saturday at UFC Vegas 82.
