“Per multiple sources, the UFC is targeting another fight card in Korea for this fall. October is the month currently being discussed but nothing is finalized yet. Imagine both @KoreanZombieMMA and @KoreanSuperBoy7 fighting at home!” – Chris Taylor
The octagon was last seen in Seoul, Korea in November of 2015 for UFC Fight Night 79.
That event was headlined by a welterweight match featuring former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson taking on the always dangerous Jorge Masvidal.
After five-rounds of exciting back and forth action, “Bendo” was awarded the split-decision victory over “Gamebred” from the judges in attendance.
Also featured on the UFC Fight Night 79 card were Korean standouts Dong Hyun Kim and Doo Ho Choi who both went on to electrify their home crowd by scoring stoppage victories at the event.
Obviously the UFC would love to have perennial UFC featherweight contender and former division title challenger Chan Sung Jung perform at the promotions next big event in Korea.
Jung was most recently slated to fight Ricardo Lamas at UFC 214 this past August, but was unfortunately forced off the card after he suffered a bad knee injury.
According to John Hyon Ko of MMA Today News, Chan Sung Jung was initially targeting August for his octagon return.
However, due to his third child being expected that month, the Korean standout is now most likely to return in the fall of 2018, which lines up nicely for the promotions proposed return trip to Seoul.

“Korean Zombie sighting! Chan-Sung Jung was targeting August as a return date but his third child will be born that month. He will likely return in the fall. Put two and two together and @CTaylor_96 might have something in that Oct. #UFCSeoul thing! #MMA #UFC” – John Hyon Ko
There is no shortage of Korean talent to choose from when looking at the current UFC roster.
Korean fighters such as Kim Ji-yeon, Seo Hee Ham, Yui Chul Nam, Hyun Gyu Lim, Dong Hyun Kim, Doo Ho Choi and of course “The Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung would all likely want to be a part of the UFC’s return to Seoul.
