UFC 196 Drug Test Results: All competitors come back clean

There was much speculation from the MMA community regarding which fighters would actually pass their post-fight drug tests prior to UFC 196, which took place earlier this month in Las Vegas.

Some people, including one of Nate Diaz’s coaches, really believed that current featherweight champ Conor McGregor had been using steroids in the lead up to his UFC 196 main event welterweight showdown with the “Stockton Slugger”.

Other fans worried that McGregor’s opponent, Nate Diaz, may also struggle with the drug test after taking the fight on such short-notice.

However, both Diaz and McGregor proved any skeptics wrong when the NSAC released the UFC 196 drug test results to MMAJunkie earlier today:

18 fighters were tested by the NSAC from the UFC 196 card. Each of those fighters tested negative for drugs of abuse and banned performance-enhancing drugs.

The six remaining fighters, including the event’s main-event and co-main-event fighters, were tested by the UFC’s anti-doping partner, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. The third-party testing firm found no adverse results from in- and out-of-competition testing, UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky stated.
