Alexander Volkanovski takes a shot at Henry Cejudo, ‘Triple C’ responds
UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski took a shot at UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, and ‘Triple C’ responded in a funny social media exchange.
Volkanovski joked that he should call out the loser of the featherweight undercard bout between Sodiq Yusuff and Andre Fili, which Yusuff won via unanimous decision, and tagged Cejudo in his Tweet. “The Great” was clearly taking a shot at Cejudo for his decision to fight Jose Aldo despite him coming off of a split decision loss to Marlon Moraes at UFC 245.
Take a look at Volkanovski’s tweet below.
I should call out the loser of this fight…what you think @HenryCejudo 😜 #ufc246

Cejudo saw Volkanovski’s tweet and responded with a tweet of his own.
Just following the lead of your teammate mate! You’ll be bending the knee soon you overgrown midget! Quadruple C #bendtheknee https://t.co/NSdhloyokx

Volkanovski and Cejudo are obviously in different weight divisions, with the Aussie being the champ at 145lbs and Cejudo being the champ at 135lbs. But there’s always the chance of a superfight between these two champs, and although both men are tied up with other opponents at the moment, don’t be shocked if we end up seeing this fight down the road.
Volkanovski is currently healing up from a broken hand suffered in his title fight win over Max Holloway at UFC 245, but when he does return there are a number of contenders for him to fight including Zabit Magomedsharipov, Chan Sung Jung and Holloway in a rematch.
As for Cejudo, he will be taking on Aldo at UFC 250 in May. But if he gets through Aldo like expected, he may take a chance and call out Volkanovski to try and become the first three-division champ in UFC history, beating Conor McGregor to the finish line.
Who do you think would win a superfight between Alexander Volkanovski and Henry Cejudo if it were to ever happen?
