In the main event of UFC Vegas 75, top-five middleweights collided as Marvin Vettori took on Jared Cannonier. Vettori entered the fight coming off a decision win over Roman Dolidze at UFC 286 back in March which got him back into the win column after he lost to Robert Whittaker. Cannonier, meanwhile, was coming off a main event decision win over Sean Strickland back in December.

Henry Cejudo will be looking to return to the win column in August. UFC president Dana White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that Cejudo is set to return at UFC 292 in Boston against Marlon Vera. The pay-per-view fight card will take place on August 19, with the main event of the card seeing bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling taking on Sean O’Malley. Zhang Weili is also set to defend her strawweight title in the co-headliner against Amanda Lemos.

Marvin Vettori has released a statement following his lopsided decision loss to Jared Cannonier at UFC Vegas 75. Vettori was headlining the card at the UFC Apex on Saturday night and entered the fight as a small betting favorite. Right out of the gates, Vettori landed a nice shot that rocked Cannonier and had him stumbling. Yet, that was one of the only bright spots for the Italian as Cannonier took over and had Vettori hurt on numerous occasions to cruise to a unanimous decision victory. The judges scored the fight, 49-45, 49-45, and 48-46, as Cannonier outstruck Vettori 257-154, with ‘The Killa Gorilla’ landing 241 significant strikes in the fight.

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will have to wait until the promotion’s trip to Abu Dhabi to fight. The Russian has been out of action since his clash with Alexander Volkanovski in February. The two champions headlined UFC 284 and put on an instant classic. At the end of the five-round bout, it was Makhachev who retained the lightweight title by unanimous decision.

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev still doesn’t believe Charles Oliveira has a shot against him. ‘Do Bronx’ returned to the octagon earlier this month at UFC 289. There, the Brazilian faced Beneil Dariush, who was riding a lengthy winning streak. Leading into the event, both men were attempting to secure a title shot, as the bout was Charles Oliveira’s first since last October at UFC 280.

UFC women’s flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield isn’t opposed to moving up in weight for a shot at gold. Erin Blanchfield has quickly emerged as a top contender in the 125-pound division. Back in February, Blanchfield earned a second-round submission victory over former UFC Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade. Thanks to the finish, “Cold Blooded” received her third “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Khamzat Chimaev insists he wants to get back inside the Octagon imminently. The situation with “Borz” is an interesting one. Khamzat Chimaev hasn’t had a fight since September 2022. UFC President Dana White initially claimed that there was a personal issue with the rising fighter. Khamzat Chimaev denied this claim, and said he’s ready to get back inside the Octagon.

Sean O’Malley has revealed who he would like to see Conor McGregor take on if he doesn’t battle Michael Chandler in his next outing. The future of Conor McGregor is uncertain. At one point, it seemed set in stone that he’d take on Michael Chandler before the end of the year in his UFC return. Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t seem likely, given that he missed the deadline for re-entering the USADA testing pool in time for the promotion’s final PPV of 2023.

UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya recalls being detained in a New York City airport. Israel Adesanya put the 185-pound gold on the line against Alex Pereira at UFC 281. The title fight was held inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. Israel Adesanya suffered a fifth-round TKO loss, losing the middleweight title in the process. “The Last Stylebender” got the championship back from Pereira by scoring a brutal second-round knockout win over in their MMA rematch at UFC 287.

Robert Whittaker has shared his initial response to Jared Cannonier’s unanimous decision victory over Marvin Vettori at UFC Vegas 75. Jared Cannonier vs. Marvin Vettori headlined UFC Vegas 75 inside the UFC Apex. This showdown in the state of Nevada went all five rounds. Cannonier’s relentless pressure on the feet gave Vettori problems all night. The damage on Marvin Vettori’s face was apparent. The striking of Jared Cannonier was crisp and he looked like a serious middleweight contender.

Jared Cannonier has no interest in facing Khamzat Chimaev if one key stipulation isn’t in place. Jared Cannonier took the headlining spot on the UFC Vegas 75 card. He went one-on-one with Marvin Vettori. Cannonier’s powerful striking was on display. While he couldn’t finish his very tough opponent, Jared Cannonier did leave visible damage on Marvin Vettori’s face by the time the fight ended. The decision was clear as well, and Cannonier had his hand raise when the dust settled.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 75 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Marvin Vettori vs. Jared Cannonier. The highly anticipated middleweight main event proved to be a coming out party for the 39-year-old Cannonier. After being rocked early in the opening round, ‘The Killa Gorilla’ went to put on the performance of his life for the remainder of the fight. Cannonier set a new UFC middleweight record for significant strikes landed, beating down Vettori for the final four rounds of the contest. ‘The Italian Dream’ showed off his heart and incredible chin but was clearly no match for Jared Cannonier this evening.
