Since debuting with the world’s leading mixed martial arts organization in 2016, Volkanovski quickly made a name for himself in the UFC. It took the Australian-born athlete just eight fights to get his hands on the UFC featherweight strap when he defeated Max Holloway at UFC 245 in 2019.

Nate Diaz claims Khabib Nurmagomedov avoided a rematch with Conor McGregor. Nurmagomedov and McGregor fought in the main event of UFC 229. It was the Irishman’s return to MMA after boxing Floyd Mayweather, while Khabib was looking to defend his 155lbs title for the first time. The build-up was full of trash talk and in the fight, it was Nurmagomedov who won by fourth-round submission.

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has zero desire in a potential fourth fight with Max Holloway. The history between arguably the two greatest featherweights in UFC history dates back to 2019, when Volkanovski first attained the title at UFC 254, snapping Holloway’s fourteen-fight unbeaten streak at 145lbs. Since then, the pair have met a further twice, with the Australian edging a split decision at UFC 251 and then putting on a clinic at UFC 276 to go (3-0) over the former champ.

It’s safe to say that the relationship between Dana White and Francis Ngannou isn’t the best right now. In fact, you could probably go a step further and claim that it’s broken for good. Following his exit from the UFC, Ngannou was slandered by White in a variety of ways – and the president kept that going during last weekend’s post-fight press conference.

Later this summer, Dricus du Plessis will collide with Robert Whittaker in a title eliminator showdown. The winner is expected to battle Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight championship, perhaps as early as September. While Whittaker is seen as the clear favorite, there are plenty of reasons to believe that the South African star could make this incredibly competitive.

Dern entered the fight coming off a majority decision loss to Xiaonan Yan back in October in another five-round main event. Hill, meanwhile, was riding a two-fight winning streak as she beat Loopy Godinez and Emily Ducote by decision.

Jan Blachowicz is confident he will send Alex Pereira back down to middleweight. Blachowicz and Pereira are set to serve as the co-main event of UFC 291 on July 29 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s an intriguing matchup and one Blachowicz says he asked for. He says when he heard Pereira was moving up, he wanted to be the first to welcome the Brazilian to 205lbs as he likes the style matchup, and he expects to send Pereira back down to middleweight.

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez has detailed what Michael Chandler needs to do to have success against Conor McGregor. While McGregor vs. Chandler doesn’t have an official date, UFC President Dana White is hoping to book the fight before the year is out. McGregor recently cleared up his issues with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). He’s expected to reenter the testing pool soon.

Eddie Hearn has weighed in and dropped his official prediction for the Summer showdown between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz. Earlier this month, it was announced that Jake Paul would compete against his fourth MMA fighter inside the boxing ring. Paul will face off with UFC veteran Diaz on August 5 in Dallas, Texas, with the hope of bouncing back from his first professional loss to Tommy Fury.

Sean O’Malley has a response after Aljamain Sterling suggested their fight gets bumped up to July. O’Malley will challenge Sterling for the UFC Bantamweight Championship on August 19. The title fight is scheduled to headline UFC 292 inside the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. While Sterling was initially hesitant about committing to the championship scrap so soon, UFC President Dana White has insisted the fight is on for the summer.
