Conor McGregor vows to surpass Matt Brown’s KO record, ‘The Immortal’ responds

Conor McGregor has vowed to break Matt Brown’s UFC knockout record – and the 42-year-old veteran has responded. Later this year, Conor McGregor is expected to make his long-awaited return to the Octagon. After two years away, he’ll go head to head with Michael Chandler. Johnny Walker is happy to pick up his third win in a row, but he feels he can make improvements. Walker collided with Anthony Smith in the co-main event of UFC on ABC 4. The light heavyweight battle was contested inside the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Walker had Smith hurting throughout the fight, but he couldn’t secure a finish. He did, however, earn a unanimous decision victory.

Jailton Almeida is fresh off a big win at UFC on ABC 4 and he’s hoping to eventually fight for UFC gold. Almeida headlined UFC Charlotte this past Saturday (May 13). He went one-on-one with Jairzinho Rozenstruik inside the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Almeida emerged victorious via first-round submission. It was a rear-naked choke that got the job done for “Malhadinho.”

Conor McGregor is thrilled with Ian Garry after his performance at UFC on ABC 4. Garry was in action this past Saturday (May 13). He shared the Octagon with Daniel Rodriguez on the main card, and this one didn’t make it past the opening frame. Garry scored with a head kick followed by punches to seal the deal and improve his pro MMA record to 12-0.

The Octagon returned to North Carolina for tonight’s UFC on ABC 4 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Jairzinho Rozenstruik taking on Jailton Almeida. The heavyweight headliner resulted in another quick victory for the surging contender in Jailton Almeida. The Brazilian was able to get the fight to the canvas in the early seconds of the contest and proceeded to show off his tremendous grappling ability. He moved from half guard to side control, then to full mount, and ended up taking the back of Jairzinho Rozenstruik and sunk in a fight-ending rear-naked choke (see that here). Almeida took no damage and can likely make a quick turnaround following what was another dominant performance.

Demetrious Johnson believes Henry Cejudo would’ve gotten his hand raised over Aljamain Sterling if it was fought under ONE Championship rules. At UFC 288 last weekend, Aljamain Sterling defeated Henry Cejudo. He did so via split decision, following an incredibly tight main event for the UFC bantamweight championship. When it was all said and done, many felt as if it was one of the tightest UFC title fights in recent years.
