It seems that bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley is ready for his return to the octagon. ‘Sugar’ has been out of action since his showdown with Pedro Munhoz in July. At UFC 276, the two bantamweight contenders fought to a no-contest, after the Brazilian was poked in the eye. The result snapped a three-fight winning streak for O’Malley, but he doesn’t view it that way.

UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler believes we need to pump the breaks on praise for Islam Makhachev. The Russian has been out of action since his first-round TKO over Bobby Green in February. That victory, along with wins over names such as Dan Hooker and Arman Tsarukyan, has secured him a title shot. Makhachev is set to face Charles Oliveira next month at UFC 280 with vacant lightweight gold on the line.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva believes BJ Penn is the greatest to ever do it. ‘The Spider’ is set to return to the boxing ring next month against Jake Paul. The Showtime pay-per-view headliner will take place from the Gila River Arena in Arizona. Ahead of the bout, many have praised Silva as the greatest fighter in MMA history.

Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will be fighting for the fourth time in January. According to MMA reporter Rodrigo Del Campo Gonzalez, Figueiredo and Moreno are targeted to fight at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on January 21. It’s uncertain if the fight will serve as the main event, but all signs point to the fight being made official soon.

Michael Bisping has given his take on Kevin Holland teasing walking away from his pro MMA career. Holland has emerged as a fan favorite and finds himself in good standing with UFC President Dana White. With that said, Holland teased on social media that he could be moving on from the sport of MMA and questioned what his next career move should be.

Robert Whittaker believes he is more dangerous than anyone at 185 pounds, including UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya. Whittaker is one of the top 185-pounders in the world. He is a former UFC Middleweight Champion and has only been beaten by Adesanya in the 185-pound division. With that said, Adesanya has beaten “The Reaper” twice.

Bellator President Scott Coker has cleared the air on the extent of his “dialogue” with Nate Diaz. Coker recently turned some heads when he told reporters that he was in communication with Diaz. The Stockton native has fought out of his UFC contract and he revealed his plan to fight outside of the promotion for a little while, but he vowed to eventually return.

It appears Conor McGregor is the only active UFC fighter who has not been tested by USADA this year. TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter did some digging into the USADA testing database and discovered that McGregor stands alone in terms of active UFC fighters who have yet to be tested in 2022.

Diaz (21-13 MMA) and Chimaev (12-0 MMA) were of course slated to headline UFC 279 earlier this month in Las Vegas. However, after ‘Borz’ missed weight by a whopping 7.5lbs, the fight card was ultimately reshuffled in an effort to keep both Nate and Khamzat on the card.

UFC President Dana White recently visited ‘mortality expert’ Gary Brecka and the news he got back was not great. During a recent episode of the ‘Action Junkeez Podcast‘, White revealed that he was recently seen by “human biologist & mortality expert,” Gary Brecka, who can apparently tell folks their expiry date based on blood and DNA markers.

Bobby Green has revealed that a positive drug test is the reason for his UFC 276 fight with Jim Miller being cancelled. Green (29-13-1 MMA) and Miller (35-16 MMA) were supposed to collide back on July 2 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, ‘King’ withdrew from the fight due to undisclosed reasons and was eventually replaced by Donald ‘Cowboy‘ Cerrone.

Damon Jackson knew he wasn’t going to pull out of his UFC Vegas 60 fight against Pat Sabatini. As Jackson was in Las Vegas getting ready for his fight against Sabatini, he found out his older brother passed away. Immediately, he told his coach he was going to fight and informed the UFC of the news but remained adamant he was going to compete.

Aljamain Sterling will put his bantamweight title on the line against TJ Dillashaw in the co-headliner of next month’s UFC 280 event. Sterling (21-3 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since defeating Petr Yan by split decision at UFC 273 this past April. That victory extended Aljamain’s current win streak to seven in a row, a stretch that includes two submission victories.

Trey Ogden figured he would be the underdog against Daniel Zellhuber but didn’t expect to be the biggest underdog on the card at UFC Vegas 60. Ogden was coming off a split decision loss to Jordan Leavitt in his debut and was set to fight the undefeated Zellhuber. Going into the fight, Ogden knew people would be doubting him and he was fine with that.

Zak Cummings has had a difficult two years to say the least. After Cummings beat Alessio Di Chirico in August of 2020 he was offered another fight shortly after at light heavyweight. However, that bout didn’t come to fruition and he was then booked to fight Sam Alvey in April of 2021. Unfortunately for Cummings, he suffered a serious back injury in training and has been on the sidelines ever since.

Daniel Cormier believes Khamzat Chimaev made the decision to stop cutting weight at UFC 279. It was to be Khamzat Chimaev (12-0 MMA) vs Nate Diaz (22-13 MMA) in the welterweight main event at UFC 279 on September 10th. Ultimately, Khamzat missed weight by a whopping 7.5 pounds, sending the promotion into chaos as they re-worked the fights. Chimaev ended up fighting and beating Kevin Holland (23-8 MMA). Diaz met up with and defeated Tony Ferguson (26-8 MMA) in his last fight under his UFC contract.
