It was almost a year ago that former light heavyweight champion and UFC hall of famer Chuck Liddell (21-9 MMA) split from his wife Heidi Northcott after 10 years of marriage and entered into a custody battle over their children. The couple have two children, a daughter, Guinevere and a son, Charles.

Kevin Holland (23-8 MMA) got in the Octagon with Khamzat Chimaev (12-0 MMA) on Saturday September 10th at UFC 279 which took place in the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. ‘Trailblazer’ was defeated by first round submission in the catchweight bout.

After Khamzat Chimaev missed weight by 7.5 pounds at UFC 279, many were questioning the motivation of ‘Borz’ and whether or not he was fully focused on his fight week task. Anderson Silva revealed potential plans for his final combat fight to take place in Japan to cap off an historic career. The former UFC middleweight champion held the belt from 2006-2013 and defeated some of the best fighters of his era, including Rich Franklin (x2), Yushin Okami, Chael Sonnen (x2), Forrest Griffin, and Patrick Cotè, to name a few. Silva left the UFC in October of 2020 after a loss to Uriah Hall at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV. Ever since the loss, he has vowed to pursue other combat ventures outside of MMA, which includes boxing.

Scott Coker is hoping to bring Nate Diaz to Bellator. Coker used to promote Nick and Nate Diaz in Strikeforce and the two have a good relationship. With Coker now serving as Bellator’s president, he confirmed to the media in Ireland that the promotion is talking with Diaz and his team about a deal. The hope is to have a deal in place that allows Diaz to take boxing fights but his MMA fights would be in Bellator.

On Tuesday night we were treated to another edition of Dana White’s Contender Series, which featured the debut of 17-year-old prospect Raul Rosas Jr. and a second chance for former NFL tight end Austen Lane. Lane previously appeared on the Contender Series in 2018, getting knocked out in under a minute by Greg Hardy, another NFL-to-MMA experiment. Four years later and carrying a five fight win streak, Lane returned against Richard Jacobi. While he’d go on to win the fight, things almost went very wrong for Lane when he kicked his opponent square in the groin just 30 seconds into the first round.

Rumors have been circulating since mid-summer about a Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor rematch in boxing, and now ‘Money’ himself has come out and publicly called for the fight in 2023. Mayweather is set to fight popular social media celebrity and MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura in Japan at Super RIZIN on September 25th. It’s not a serious or competitive bout, but the money is extremely good. According to Floyd, he’ll pocket $20 million for the nine minute boxing match … which could end quickly if Mayweather decides not to play with his food.

According to South China Morning Post, Alvarez and ONE Championship agreed to part ways as the former UFC lightweight champ has not fought since April of 2021. At this time, it’s unclear how many fights he had left on his deal but both sides agreed it was best to part ways.
Cody Garbrandt also injured, fight against Rani Yahya postponed

Cody Garbrandt has also suffered an injury and will not remain on the October 1 Fight Night card. Garbrandt was supposed to face Rani Yahya on the card but the Brazilian suffered an injury and a replacement opponent was sought after. However, on Tuesday, it was revealed by Dave Lockett, UFC senior director of public relations that Garbrandt also suffered an injury. The plan now is to rebook Garbrandt-Yahya for the third time.
