Vince Morales was thrilled when he found out he would be fighting Jonathan Martinez. Martinez trains at Factory X and is the main training partner of Chris Gutierrez who beat Morales by TKO (leg kicks) in May of 2020. Since then, he has rallied off two straight wins, including his last being a KO victory over Louis Smolka, so he’s eager for the chance to try and get one back on Martinez’s camp.

Kamaru Usman believes Khamzat Chimaev and other welterweight contenders need to get past Colby Covington before they can get a title shot. Usman is currently on the sidelines as he rehabs his hand injury. When he returns, it’s likely he will face Leon Edwards. After that, there is no clear-cut contender but Khamzat Chimaev is one fighter knocking on the door. Yet, Usman believes the Swede should have to go through Covington first.

UFC lightweight title contender Michael Chandler seems to think that fighter pay criticism is unfair. Over the last few months, the UFC and Dana White have been blasted over what they pay fighters. Names such as Jake Paul have seemingly declared war on the company to raise pay. Others, such as Anderson Silva, have blasted the UFC for a similar reason.

Gilbert Burns believes Leon Edwards has the best chance to dethrone Kamaru Usman and become the new welterweight champion. Usman is currently rehabbing his hand but when he returns it is expected he will face Edwards next. The two fought back in December 2015 and it was Usman edging out a decision in a close fight. Since then, both Usman and Edwards haven’t lost and Burns believes there are a few key reasons why the Brit can have success against the champ.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos has given his thoughts on his UFC release. ‘Cigano’ was released from the promotion in March 2021. The parting of ways wasn’t shocking, as he’d lost four straight fights. Dos Santos was brutally knocked out by Francis Ngannou, Curtis Blaydes, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and Ciryl Gane in his final bouts.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm still has hopes of holding the title again. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ has been out of the cage since October 2020, a win over Irene Aldana. The 40-year-old has been forced out of action for a year and a half. Mainly due to a variety of injuries and illnesses.

Justin Gaethje gave Charles Oliveira some praise immediately after their fight at UFC 274. In the lead-up to their fight, Gaethje was vocal in saying Oliveira was still a quitter and he would prove it. He also doubted the Brazilian would stand and trade with him as he said he would, but that turned out to be the case. The two traded shots and Oliveira ended up dropping Gaethje with a big shot and ended up getting a submission win in the first round.

Gilbert Burns is sharing his lone regret from his clash with Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 273. It was Gilbert Burns (20-5 MMA) vs Khamzat Chimaev (11-0 MMA) in a welterweight bout on April 9th, 2022 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. It was to be a split-decision win for the undefeated Chimaev.

UFC legend, Georges St-Pierre, has detailed the strategy he would have used to defeat Kamaru Usman. Georges St-Pierre, widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in mixed martial arts history, retired in February 2019.  The Canadian is a two division champion in the UFC, having won titles in the welterweight and middleweight divisions.

Dustin Poirier has admitted that coach Mike Brown warned him against taking a fight with rival Colby Covington. Just a few days ago, Dustin Poirier seemingly accepted Colby Covington’s challenge to face him later this summer in a UFC welterweight showdown. It came a couple of months after Covington called Poirier out in the wake of defeating another member of American Top Team, and one of his former friends, Jorge Masvidal.

While he may be retired, Khabib Nurmagomedov is still the talk of the town in the mixed martial arts world. In addition to being the promoter for Eagle FC, he’s also left a legacy for himself as one of the greatest UFC champions of all-time.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes Charles Oliveira got ‘screwed’ when missing weight for UFC 274 earlier this month. In the main event of UFC 274, Charles Oliveira submitted Justin Gaethje in the first round to cement his status as the best active lightweight on the planet. However, he didn’t take the belt home with him, as a direct result of the Brazilian missing weight just 24 hours prior to the fight.

Parker Porter was surprised when he found out he would be fighting Jailton Almeida. Porter has strung together three straight wins and on a month’s notice, he got the call to fight Almeida which surprised him. The Brazilain is 1-0 in the UFC and is a light heavyweight so Porter never expected to face Almeida.

UFC light-heavyweight contender Jan Blachowicz was at a bit of a disadvantage during his fight with Aleksandar Rakic. Last Saturday night, the two 205-pound contenders collided in the main event of UFC Vegas 54. As expected, the bout lived up to the hype. Well, that’s until it got called off in the third round due to an injury to Rakic.

Former dual-weight UFC champion Daniel Cormier is surprised that Dustin Poirier is agreeing to fight Colby Covington. Following his victory over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272, Covington called out Poirier. The two have a history as former training partners and friends, but it would be hard to tell. During his callout, ‘Chaos’ took aim at Poirier’s wife and child.

UFC light-heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira’s days in the sport are numbered. The 42-year-old seems set to retire later this year. The Brazilian is set to face Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 275 next month. The bout is going to be Teixeira’s first title defense since capturing the light-heavyweight title last year against Jan Blachowicz. The 42-year-old captured the championship via second-round submission last October.
