While there were plenty of top prospects who made their UFC debut last year, few were as talked about as Ian Garry. “The Future” made a pretty solid impact during his days with Cage Warriors and upon being called up to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the buzz surrounding him grew even further.

Nate Diaz (21-13 MMA) has not fought since he suffered a decision loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 263 in June 2021. Diaz and Dustin Poirier (28-7 MMA) were originally scheduled to fight back at UFC 230 in 2018. However, the bout never came to fruition and both men blamed each other for pulling out first. Since then, they have taken aim at one another, both trying to make a match happen.

UFC commentator Daniel Cormier has said that the contract drama between Francis Ngannou and the UFC may be impacting him. It’s no secret that Francis Ngannou has had his fair share of disagreements with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of this writing he’s still part of the roster but after UFC 270 this Saturday, his future will be uncertain as his current contract with the promotion expires.

Marvin Vettori has been vocal about his dislike for Israel Adesanya and took a shot at the champ once again. Vettori and Adesanya first met in 2018, with “The Last Stylebener” winning by split decision, although many thought it was a clear win for Adesanya. The pair then had their rematch at UFC 263 where it was the Kiwi winning by decision to once again defend his middleweight title.

The two are former training partners but they do not like one another. The stakes are already high for this fight. But, only adding to it is the fact the winner will likely face Jones next.

UFC heavyweight Carlos Felipe has accepted an 18-month suspension from USADA after his manager revealed the costs involved with his defense. Back in October, Carlos Felipe lost to Andrei Arlovski via unanimous decision to drop his professional mixed martial arts record to 11-2. It was then announced soon after that Felipe had tested positive for the anabolic agent Boldenone and its metabolites. He was fined $4,200 of his purse and $489 in prosecution fees.
