Two huge fights have been announced as the UFC return of heavyweight Alistair Overeem and middleweight Kelvin Gastelum are now official. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke both fight announcements on Thursday. On February 6, Overeem will take on Alexander Volkov in a five-round heavyweight fight that headlines a UFC Fight Night card. And on January 30, Gastelum makes his return to the Octagon when he takes on Ian Heinisch. There is no location set for either event as of yet.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan doesn’t think former UFC champ Conor McGregor will do well in a potential boxing match with Manny Pacquiao. McGregor and Pacquiao have been linked to a potential boxing match for several years. If the fight ever ends up happening, however, Rogan believes McGregor will be in over his head.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 14, Paul Felder is stepping up on five days’ notice to take on Rafael dos Anjos in RDA’s return to 155-pounds. Heading into the fight, Felder is a +155 underdog while the Brazilian is a -190 favorite. Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their prediction for the scrap. The majority of pros believe it will be dos Anjos getting his hand raised.

UFC middleweight Jack Hermansson believes that the ground game is the key to beating Kevin Holland when the two clash later this year. Hermansson was originally scheduled to fight Darren Till on December 5 at a UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas, but Till withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Holland. Hermansson is a top-five fighter but decided to accept the fight against an unranked opponent. On paper, this looks like a great fight for the fans even if Holland isn’t ranked just because of what could happen if the fight between these two hits the ground.

An exciting fight between veteran welterweights Carlos Condit and Matt Brown has been booked for a UFC Fight Night event in January. Condit and Brown were previously scheduled to fight twice but Brown was forced to withdraw both times with injuries. The first time these two were scheduled to fight was way back in December 2013 at UFC on FOX 9, and the second time was at UFC on FOX 29 in April 2018. The UFC will hope that the third time is the charm for these two.

Since the fight, he has been wanting to get back in there, but the COVID-19 pandemic and injuries suffered by his would be opponents halted those plans.

Former Ultimate Fighter winner Kelvin Gastelum has called out fellow middleweight contender Edmen Shahbazyan for an upcoming fight at 185lbs. Gastelum most recently was seen on Fight Island getting submitted by a Jack Hermansson heel hook this past summer. Prior to that, he had dropped a split decision to Darren Till and lost a unanimous decision to Israel Adesanya. Overall, Gastelum has lost three straight fights in the Octagon, but he is still ranked at No. 8 in the UFC because his three losses were to higher-ranked opponents. Overall, Gastelum is 10-6, 1 NC in the Octagon.
