Todd Duffee (9-3 MMA) will return to the Octagon for the first time in over four years at tonight’s event. In his most recent effort at UFC Fight Night 71 in San Diego, Duffee suffered a first round knockout loss to former UFC heavyweight kingpin Frank Mir.

BMF, for those unaware, stands for “bad motherf**ker.” If that term sounds familiar, it could be because it’s been associated with lightweight action-fighter Donald Cerrone for some time. He even calls his New Mexico MMA compound the BMF Ranch. While you might expect Cerrone to be a little disgruntled about having this term commandeered, he’s actually not too bothered.

Donald Cerrone believes a win over Justin Gaethje will give him a big push in the direction of a lightweight title shot. One fighter who could conceivably cut ahead of Cerrone in line, however, is Conor McGregor. Speaking at a scrum ahead of his fight with Gaethje, Cerrone was asked if he was worried about McGregor returning and jumping the contendership lineup. He responded by expressing doubt that McGregor, who he was briefly expected to fight earlier this year, will ever even fight again.

UFC middleweight champ Robert Whittaker is scheduled to defend his title opposite interim champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 243 this October. In the opinion of long-time middleweight contender Uriah Hall, however, this Whittaker-Adesanya matchup is doomed to fail. Hall believes that Whittaker will ultimately withdraw from this fight, just as he did last time he was scheduled to fight in his native Australia. In that event, Hall says he’ll happily step in on short-notice to replace Whittaker against Adesanya — a fighter he seems to respect.
