Donald Cerrone (35-11 MMA) entered tonight’s headliner with Iaquinta on a two-fight win streak. ‘Cowboy’ had scored stoppage victories over Mike Perry and Alex Hernandez in his most recent octagon appearances.

Meanwhile, Al Iaquinta was most recently seen in action this past December, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over former UFC interim lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee. ‘Raging Al’ entered UFC Ottawa Gavin won six of his past seven fights overall.

Tonight’s main event surpassed expectation as Cerrone and Iaquinta went to absolute war for twenty-five straight minutes in Ottawa.

After a back and forth opening ten minutes, Donald Cerrone was able to turn the tide against Al Iaquinta in rounds three and four.

‘Cowboy’ dropped ‘Raging Al’ on multiple occasions but Iaquinta showed off his New York toughness by surviving until the final horn.
