UFC targeting Valentina Shevchenko vs. Julianna Pena for UFC 205 in New York
Despite Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen’ Peña’s insistence on Ronda Rousey ‘getting in line’ after a definitive loss, it appears the UFC has different ideas for her , and it’s not a title shot.
Fellow woman’s bantamweight Valentina Shevchenko tweeted on Thursday that she had signed a fight agreement with ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’, thus ruling out a potential shot at Amanda Nunes belt for Peña.
@ufc decided to make fight between me and @VenezuelanVixen at #ufc205 I did my part and signed boutAgreement. Looks like she wants to escape

According to Shevchenko, Peña still has not ‘done her part’ and signed the contract to fight her, which begs the question, is ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ holding out for a title shot?
Peña (8-2) is currently riding an impressive four-fight win streak, with two of those victories coming by way of TKO. Meanwhile, Shevchenko (13-2) just defeated former champ Holly Holm by unanimous decision in July.
That leaves Ronda Rousey as the only main contender left to face Nunes for the woman’s 135 pound belt, the same belt she lost to Holm by knockout in November, 2015.
Since then, Holm lost the title to Miesha Tate at UFC 196, who in turn lost it to Amanda Nunes, where the belt remains till now.
Rousey hasn’t fought since the KO loss to Holm nearly one year ago, meaning if she does fight Nunes next, she will be getting a title shot off of a devastating loss.
