Many coming from the boxing world are not giving Conor McGregor much of a chance against the best boxer of this generation, Floyd Mayweather.

Boxing analyst Max Kellerman has gone as far as to claim that “The Notorious” will not be able to land a single punch on the defensive boxing genius in Mayweather. On the other hand, those on Conor McGregor’s side believe that he will be able to do what other boxing greats such as Manny Pacquiao, Marcos Maidana, and Juan Manuel Marquez were unable to do and hand “Money” his first loss.

The last man to fight Mayweather in the ring was former boxing champion Andre Berto, who is also a friend of McGregor. Andy Nesbitt of FOX Sports caught up with Berto to talk about the matchup.

“(Floyd) is really going to have to embarrass this man to get credibility from the boxing purists,” Berto said.

When asked for his prediction for the fight, Berto gave an interesting response coming from the world of boxing.

“Floyd’s gonna do what Floyd does,” said Berto. “Floyd’s gonna you know, embarrass him, out-box him. You know, make him look silly and just break him down and later on maybe stopping him over the 12-round span. Or, I believe Conor is gonna figure out you know, figure out that timing and sit back on a strong left hand and catch Floyd. It’s either one or the other.”

Catching Mayweather with a big punch won’t be easy for McGregor as Berto explained why it’s so difficult to fight Floyd.

“He’s a master of slowing down the pace,” said Berto. “You know, he’s very smart, very elusive. We’re training to punch bags and punch sparring partners but like I said, he makes himself very small so you can’t hit him. Even if he has to hit you once, maybe twice a round, he has tremendous patience just to look for those spots and gets out of that round with enough points to win it.”
