Rogan’s name was brought up to be a part of the broadcasting crew for the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor fight. Unfortunately, Rogan had already committed to other obligations on the August 26 date of the fight.

Going into the matchup between Mayweather and McGregor, many from the world of boxing are not giving “The Notorious” any chance in the boxing ring under boxing rules. Mike Tyson stated that McGregor is going to “get killed” in the boxing ring and boxing analyst Max Kellerman went as far as to claim that the UFC lightweight champion won’t land a single punch on Mayweather during the course of their fight scheduled for 12 rounds.

Rogan also believes it is a tough order as Mayweather has only been hit cleanly a handful of times throughout his 49-fight career.

“Well, Conor is not that level of a boxer,” Rogan said on the topic of how Shane Mosley hit Mayweather the hardest speaking with Jamie Foxx on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “I think he’s gotta, like, fight in the clinch. He’s gotta like, dirty box him. He’s gotta figure out a way to tie him up and manipulate him and move his body around. He’s gotta figure out a way to be good defensively too. And, he’s gotta hurt him. All like, high risk, low yield possibilities.”

“The way I describe it, how would you expect the greatest figure skater in the world to do playing hockey against Wayne Gretzky? It’s not the same thing. Greatest freak show ever. I’m waiting for that fight more than Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin even though that fight is a legitimate fight.”
