Watch! Tyson Fury Post Fight Interview : The end of the Klitschko era?

By bjpenndotcom - November 28, 2015

Tyson Fury said he would become the heavyweight champion of the world. He was right. The action was limited while Fury worked his jab to control the fight and keep Wladimir Klitschko off balance this Saturday night. Fury connected with more punches landing 86 of 371 punches to Klitschklo’s 52 of 310 punches.

The Lancashire puncher ended the reign of boxing’s most dominant heavyweight of the 21st century to capture the WBA Super, WBO and IBF titles in the ESPRIT arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Fury was light on his toes for most of the bout and although he did not land any major power shots and even had one point deducted, he was awarded a unanimous 115-112, 115-112, 116-111 score after forcing Klitschko to get on his bike and chase Fury for a majority of the contest.

The cause of Klitschklo’s low punch output and lack of corner advice to “pick it up” is anyone’s guess. Fury won the judges over clearly by being the busier fighter. Klitschklo never landed that trademark right hand bomb. He just never settled into the fight and found his rhythm.

With Fury’s win, the big question is who’s next in line to face the new champ? Maybe the current WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder? Will it be a new era for the heavyweight division, or will the 39 yr. old Ukrainian find his second wind late in his historical career and recapture what was once his, championship gold?
