Jorge Masvidal has confirmed his desire to battle Conor McGregor in a UFC superfight before the end of the year. The last couple of years haven’t been particularly kind to Jorge Masvidal or Conor McGregor when it comes to their exploits inside the cage. Masvidal has suffered defeats to Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, whereas McGregor has been on the wrong end of consecutive losses to Dustin Poirier.

Usman is set to defend his welterweight title against Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC 278 on August 20 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s an intriguing matchup as Usman looks to defend his belt for the sixth time, and the bout also serves as a rematch of their 2015 fight.

Headlining the pay-per-view card is a welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards. Usman is looking for his sixth title defense and is coming off a hand injury. In his most recent appearance, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ beat Colby Covington by decision. Meanwhile, Edwards is coming off a decision win over Nate Diaz at UFC 263.
