Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor are set to finally square off in the octagon at “UFC 194” in December to settle who is the true UFC Featherweight Champion. The two were originally supposed to meet at “UFC 189”, but Aldo suffered a rib injury causing him to pull out of the fight. Instead, McGregor fought Chad Mendes on short notice for the newly created UFC Interim Featherweight Championship. Mendes tested McGregor, but it was McGregor who would force “Money” succumb to strikes in the second round to become the new king of the division.

When the Ultimate Fighting Championship traveled to Brazil for the first time in 1998, there was a slew of Brazilian fighters who made a name for themselves during the event. Vitor Belfort wowed the crowd in attendance when he only needed forty-four seconds to knock out Wanderlei Silva, but one heavyweight stood head and shoulders above the rest that night. Pedro Rizzo looked impressive and showed a lot of potential against Tank Abbott and needed eight minutes to finish the fight. Rizzo would go on to win three fights in a row before suffering his first octagon loss, but he had already made an impression on his fellow heavyweights. Rizzo fought for the UFC’s heavyweight title three times and although he failed to win each time, they were entertaining bouts.

Conor McGregor may only have five octagon wins under his belt, but he is already one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts today. The Ireland native has transcended barriers and is a mainstream star; The interim UFC Featherweight Champion feels like he has to dress the part of a superstar. McGregor is currently training for his fight with Jose Aldo which is set to take place at UFC 194, but he is also coaching a team of Europeans on the current season of “The Ultimate Fighter”. Rivaling him is none other than “The California Kid” Urijah Faber who likes to dress extremely laid back. Faber recently talked to MMA Fighting and called McGregor out on his odd choice of apparel while coaching his team during filming, revealing “The Notorious” wore a suit to EVERY practice!

Chris Weidman shocked the world when he dethroned Anderson Silva of his spot as UFC Middleweight Champion. Now, three championship defenses later he faces the biggest test of his championship run with Luke Rockhold. Rockhold is currently riding a four fight win streak and hasn’t suffered a loss since he ran into Belfort’s heel in May of 2013. Now, the two will square off in the octagon on December 12, 2015 at “UFC 194”. Weidman and Rockhold will co-headline the card directly before Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo’s blockbuster featherweight championship bout. Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar have both seen their fair share of successes in the world of mixed martial arts, but their names will always be paired with each other due to their legendary battle. Bonnar and Griffin met in the finals of the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and left it all in the octagon in a fight that put UFC on the map. The fight was so unbelievable that Dana White rewarded both the winner (Griffin) and loser (Bonnar) contracts with the company, ultimately both getting inducted into the hall of fame. The two have gone separate paths now that Bonnar is with Bellator, but the two reunited for a commercial with Nissan! Check it out below!

Fans from around the world watched on as “Money” secured the last decision win of his career on Saturday night when he decimated Andre Berto in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather’s fight style may be ideal for him, but fans who were itching for hard-hitting action and knockdowns were left with a sour taste in their mouths. When the Ultimate Fighting Championship struck an exclusive sponsorship deal with Reebok, fight fans and fighters alike were reluctant to celebrate. The deal seriously impacted the income of several fighters, but now the premier promotion is getting criticism for how their attire looks! Bellator’s former Light heavyweight Champion Emanuel Newton put the uniforms and Reebok on blast, saying he hasn’t worn the apparel brand since his “hardcore” days in high school.

It looks like Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino’s trip down to bantamweight has begun! The featherweight champion will be gracing the cage in Invicta when she drops down to 140 for her next fight at “Invicta FC 15” in November. The news broke during the post-fight press conference after “Invicta FC 14” on Saturday night. Details surrounding her next fight are scarce as Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp hasn’t released “Cyborg’s” opponent or the date and location of the card. After Ronda Rousey quickly disposed of Bethe Correia on August 1st at UFC 190, all eyes were on “Cyborg” waiting for her to announce her drop to bantamweight. While Rousey and “Cyborg” traded shots at each other, the fight never materialized and “Rowdy” will now be facing Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.

Miesha Tate showed a great deal of improvement and aggression when she disposed of Jessica Eye at “UFC on FOX 16” earlier this year during a win that supposedly earned her a shot at the bantamweight championship. However, UFC President Dana White and Ronda Rousey caught “Cupcake” off guard when it was announced that Holly Holm would be next in line to challenge “Rowdy” for the UFC Bantamweight Championship. Rousey broke the news on “Good Morning Amercia” when Tate was still asleep.

Josh Barnett is set to return to the land of the rising sun on September 27, 2015 when he squares off with fellow heavyweight Roy Nelson at UFC Fight Night 75. The fight will be Barnett’s first since his loss to Travis Browne in December 2013, but he wasted no time in making this a must-see the moment it was announced. When the fight was announced back in May, Nelson put Barnett on the spot by saying he hopes the UFC’s drug testing is in effect by the time their fight rolls around. Barnett, always one to have a sharp response, fired back at Nelson by accusing him of taking “gravy injections”.

The Invicta FC Featherweight Champion will be dropping to 140 for the company’s November event at “Invicta FC 15”. Her opponent and the date of the fight has yet to been released, but President Shannon Knapp confirmed the move to 140 on Saturday night after “Invicta FC 14”. Today, “Cyborg” appeared on what seems to be her pastor’s podcast decked out with her Invicta FC featherweight championship and a bedazzled varsity coat! Interesting choice of attire for church, but nobody is going to stop her!

“The Ultimate Fighter” has seen a resurgence in ratings with Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber coaching the twenty-second season, but the older editions of the show weren’t ALL skippable. The sixth season of the reality show pit rivals Matt Hughes and Matt Serra against each other to decide not only who was the superior coach, but who was the superior fighter; The two were expected to square off at “UFC 98” for the welterweight championship. Matt Hughes would ultimately defeat Matt Serra, but it wasn’t without tribulation as Serra’s team won the competition!

That’s right, UFC welterweight Alan Jouban is reportedly close to signing a contract with Versace, which would certainly be the first time an MMA fighter has been linked to this kind of deal.

Earlier in the week, while promoting the premiere of TUF 22, UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor took a few shots at bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. While going back and forth with Urijah Faber, McGregor said that he told Faber to be weary of Dillashaw, his teammate, because he thinks he’s a ‘snake in the grass’ and will be disloyal to Faber and Team Alpha Male.
