UFC President Dana White revealed during the post fight press conference that they will make their return to the land down under on March 20th with “UFC Fight Night 84”. The event will take place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

While she will no doubt continue to be a force in driving fans to the sport, Holly Holm derailed Rousey’s path to immortality by handing her the first loss of her career! Holm dominated for a full five minutes before she knocked the queen out in the second round, becoming the new UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion in the process.

Holly Holm flipped the world of mixed martial arts on its head when she brutally knocked out Ronda Rousey to become the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Before getting dethroned, Rousey tore through any and all competition that the UFC brass put in front of her and was undefeated with a record of 12-0. Rousey’s loss last night may have been one sided in favor of Holm, but there is no doubt in anybody’s mind that she deserves an immediate rematch. Her performance inside the octagon at “UFC 193” may not warrant one, but her previous eight championship defenses do. UFC President Dana White has this mindset and said during the post fight press conference that a rematch is likely imminent.

Holly Holm walked into the octagon with her sights set on taking home the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship at “UFC 193” and she did just that. She methodically picked apart Ronda Rousey for six minutes before knocking her out in the second round, stunning everybody watching around the world. The clip of Holm’s victory showed up on major social media sites and was talked about on major news outlets and everybody in the fight world is showing their support for the new champion… …especially her teammate Jon Jones.

Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm helped break that record at “UFC 193” on Saturday evening with their intense main-event. While they didn’t exactly shatter the record, White mentioned during the post-fight press conference that they packed 56,214 fans in the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night!

Holm found success throughout the fight with the cross, keeping her distance and keeping Rousey at bay by landing punches at a great distance.

The UFC 193 co-main event featured Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (10-0 MMA) defending her title against Canadian standout Valerie Letourneau (8-3 MMA). Both fighters come out cautious. Letourneau catches a kick and takes Jedrzejczyk down. Joanna scrambles back to her feet. Joanna lands a big front kick to the face midway through the round. 30 seconds left and Jedrzejczyk lands another front kick to the face. Letourneau lands a head kick with 10 seconds left in the round.

Former UFC heavyweight title challengers Mark Hunt (10-10-1 MMA) and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (19-7-1 MMA) went to battle for a second time on the UFC 193 main card in Australia. The fighters trade leg kicks for the first half of the round, obviously respecting the power of the other.

The second bout of the UFC 193 main card featured a middleweight tilt between Uriah Hall (13-5 MMA) and Robert Whittaker (15-4 MMA). Whittaker came out quick in the first round, landing a clean superman punch that appeared to stun Hall. As the round went on Hall began to open up with strikes. A series of spins ending with a wheel kick that didn’t have enough room saw Hall end up on the ground in bottom position. Whittaker ended up securing Hall’s back however Uriah spun into guard and ended the round on top.

A clash of heavyweights kicked off the UFC 193 pay-per-view card in Australia, as Jared Rosholt (13-2 MMA) took on the always dangerous Stefan Struve (30-7 MMA). In the first round Struve looked to keep Rosholt at a distance, however ultimately Rosholt was able to secure a takedown and control Struve on the ground for the remainder of the round.

Welterweights Kyle Noke (22-7-1 MMA) and Peter Sobotta (15-5-1 MMA) squared off in the third televised bout of the UFC 193 prelims. Both fighters seemed more than happy to trade punches in the opening minute.

The second bout of the televised UFC 193 prelims featured a light heavyweight tilt between Anthony Perosh (15-10 MMA) and Gian Villante (14-6 MMA). The moment this fight started it was clear that Gian Villante had the striking and power advantage over Anthony Perosh.
