We are just over a week away from what could be the biggest fight in combat sports history.

That’s right, current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will look to defy the odds when he makes his professional boxing debut against undefeated legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather on August 26 live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Earlier this week it was announced that the highly anticipated McGregor vs Mayweather super fight will be contested while wearing 8oz gloves. That news swayed the betting odds, but Floyd Mayweather is still the consensus favorite at -450.

UFC President Dana White recently spoke with TheMacLife about the upcoming “Mystic Mac” vs “Money” bout and warned the boxing community that they are in for a rude awakening.

“Here’s the reality. Boxing has tried to snub this sport (mixed martial arts) for a very long time,” White said. “The people who think this is going to be one sided with Floyd Mayweather, they don’t know Conor McGregor yet. The beautiful thing about this is it’s the biggest fight ever in the history of combat sports.”

White continued:

“Now, you’re going to meet Conor Mcgregor mother f*ckers.”

Conor McGregor was most recently seen in action at UFC 205 in November of 2016 where he scored a sensational knockout victory over Eddie Alvarez, thus claiming the UFC’s lightweight championship.

As for Mayweather, “Money” has not competed since September of 2015, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Andre Berto – improving his undefeated record to a jaw dropping 49-0.
