Jake Paul reacts to Nate Diaz putting him in a guillotine choke during their boxing match: “He was actually choking me”
Jake Paul has responded to Nate Diaz getting him in a guillotine choke position and celebrating as if he had won an MMA fight during their boxing match.
Paul and Diaz had a 10-round boxing match inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on August 5. This was Diaz’s first pro boxing fight, and Paul’s eighth. Fans got to witness an entertaining fight. Diaz had his moments, but Paul was clearly the more effective puncher and he won the bout via unanimous decision.
With that said, there was a moment near the end of the bout that reminded fight fans why Nate Diaz is beloved in combat sports.

During the post-fight press conference, Jake Paul reflected on being put in a guillotine position by Nate Diaz, and whether or not the squeeze was tight (via Michael Benson).
“He f***ing choked me, he was actually choking me,” Paul said. “I was like, ‘This is crazy.’ I didn’t think he was gonna stop, he had it in. It’s funny. That’s why I wanna run it back in MMA. If it was in MMA, I would’ve dropped to a double leg, picked him up and dropped him on his head.”
Paul has put the offer on the table to fight Diaz again, this time in MMA. Paul insists that the MMA bout happens under the PFL banner. Diaz has said that if the bout happens, it must be a co-promotion.
The Stockton native has also showed loyalty to the UFC as far as MMA goes. He has even shared he has a good relationship with UFC President Dana White. Whether or not Diaz decides to take an MMA bout with a different promotion remains to be seen. Perhaps a significant offer could lure Diaz into another big fight with Paul.
