There has been much debate about the infamous sparring session between Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi, mostly surrounding what actually happened when the two stars were in the ring together. McGregor claims to have dominated the former boxer. Malignaggi, on the other hand, has assured McGregor’s claims are bogus.

Speaking at the BKFC 6 press conference on Monday, former boxer Paulie Malignaggi made quite a few comments that rubbed the MMA community the wrong way. Some of his comments actually targeted the MMA community point blank. Yet the thing that bothered former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping the most was Malignaggi’s fashion choices — namely his fedora. “Don’t get me started on [Paulie Malignaggi] spitting on [Artem Lobov],” Michael Bisping said on his Believe You Me podcast (transcript via MMA News). “Any motherf*cker that shows up wearing a hat like that deserves to die. It’s as simple as that. I’m sorry. You look like an absolute tit. He looks like a villain out of the Dick Tracy movie. You know what I mean? He might as well have had a pinstripe suit on, that big stupid gangsta hat. Oh my god, it did not look good.

Over the course of this press conference, it became clearer than ever that Paulie Malignaggi feels a great deal of animosity toward Lobov. Yet from the sounds of it, this beef is bigger than that. Malignaggi has got a bone to pick with the entire MMA community; a community he feels has consistently misrepresented the sport of boxing.

Tyson Fury expects rematch with Deontay Wilder in Spring 2020

Despite the fantastic performance by Deontay Wilder this past weekend in his first-round knockout victory, boxing fans will have to wait a while before seeing a rematch between Wilder and Tyson Fury. During an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN, the “Gypsy King” Fury was a guest and announced that he expects a rematch to happen with Wilder in the spring of 2020. Many anticipated a rematch between Wilder and Fury would happen right away after their thrilling draw last December, but that is not the case according to Fury.

Sports of De La Hoya’s MMA venture. “I have a real business that I’ve built over the last 18 years. A real business, and I can hit you with numbers for days about [how successful it is]. How much has Oscar De La Hoya reinvested into the sport of boxing? We’ve reinvested millions and millions of dollars and we continue to do it every day. The list goes on and on.

He sang the praises of Wilder at length, but ultimately reasserted his belief that he deserved to win his 2018 draw with the American, and proclaimed himself the true king of the heavyweights.
