Daniel Cormier not worried about Jon Jones stealing Lesnar fight: 'I know I’m going to fight him'

Tom Taylor - October 21, 2018

UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is set to defend his title opposite Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC 230 on November 3. If Cormier wins this fight, he’s expected to compete in an ultra-lucrative showdown with former champ and current WWE star Brock Lesnar in his next fight. That being said, any number of cruel twists of fate could deprive Daniel Cormier of this chance. He could lose his fight with Derrick Lewis. Worse still, his arch rival Jon Jones could defeat Alexander Gustafsson this December and move up to heavyweight for his own fight with Lesnar. Jones, after all, has campaigned for a fight with Lesnar in the past.

Daniel Cormier on Jon Jones: 'We're going to fight again'

Cole Shelton - October 1, 2018

Arguably the biggest rivalry currently taking place in MMA exists between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. Cormier and Jones have gone back and forth with each other at press conferences, through social media, and in interviews over recent years. While they both talk the talk, only Jones has been able to walk the walk thus far. Jones won the pair’s first encounter by decision, while the second bout — originally a KO win for Jones — was ruled a no contest when he failed a drug test.

Mark Hunt talks 'little c***' Brock Lesnar, possible retirement at UFC Adelaide

Drake Riggs - September 11, 2018

When it comes to Brock Lesnar and people that have been busted for cheating, the ‘Super Samoan’ Mark Hunt is never shy about sharing how he feels. Hunt and Lesnar fought at UFC 200 in July 2016. The initial result was that of a unanimous decision victory for the former heavyweight champion Lesnar. Shortly after, Lesnar had been notified that he had failed a drug test for Performance Enhancing Drugs thus turning his win into a no contest.

Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar feud will grow on MMA fans

Jordy McElroy - August 22, 2018

The lingering fallout from the officially—or, technically unofficially—announced fight between two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier and former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has brought about a mixed bag of pandemonium within the MMA community. Some fans have completely bought into the crossover feud and Lesnar’s immense marketability in the combat sports world. Others see it as a rehearsed and inauthentic ploy at a quick cash grab for a future pay-per-view card.

Luke Rockhold slams Brock Lesnar, Jon Jones: "These guys should be suspended for a long time"

Tom Taylor - August 17, 2018

Former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold believes fighters who fail drug tests — particularly those who fail multiple drug tests — should face harsher punishments from the UFC and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Speaking with MMAjunkie recently, Luke Rockhold discussed former UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, who has recently been teasing a comeback, and former heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar, who has recently been linked to a fight with heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier. In his eyes, both of these men should be facing lengthy suspensions for their recent failed drug tests.

USADA has already tested Brock Lesnar three times ahead of UFC return

Tom Taylor - August 3, 2018

Barring disaster, former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE star Brock Lesnar will get the next crack at UFC heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier. First, however, Lesnar will have to serve the remainder of a suspension imposed the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), and pass a battery of new drug tests to assure he is, in fact, clean. Apparently, USADA’s work with Lesnar is off to a good start. According to the USADA website, the hulking former champ has already been tested three times since his comeback was announced (via BloodyElbow). This website was updated on August 1, so it’s even possible Lesnar has been tested again since then.

Luke Rockhold almost 'pulled a Diaz brother' on Brock Lesnar at UFC 226

Drake Riggs - July 19, 2018

At UFC 226, Daniel Cormier’s longtime American Kickboxing Academy teammate Luke Rockhold was about as close to the post-fight aftermath that one could be without actually being in it. The aftermatch following Cormier’s big title win over Stipe Miocic was, of course, that of his encounter with former UFC champion and WWE star Brock Lesnar.

Nick Diaz says he is 'Sick of all this baddest man on the planet BS'

Drake Riggs - July 13, 2018

UFC 226’s super fight aftermath between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar left a sour taste in several people’s mouths. That list now includes one of Stockton’s finest. Despite being in the middle of some rather troubling legal cases, Nick Diaz has made it clear that he’s ready to return to MMA action and continued to make it clear late on Thursday night.

Drake Riggs - July 9, 2018

UFC 226’s super fight aftermath between new UFC heavyweight champion and former champions, Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar drew mixed opinions. USADA gives update on Brock Lesnar, eligible to return in January

Drake Riggs - July 9, 2018

Curtis Blaydes fully confident he would beat Brock Lesnar, 'I shouldn't have to make my case'

Drake Riggs - July 9, 2018

If there was someone that was most affected by UFC 226 without actually being involved in the event, it was probably Curtis Blaydes. After earning the biggest win of his career at UFC 225 by knocking out Alistair Overeem in devastating fashion, Blaydes had seemingly lined himself up for the possible next title shot.

Dana White defends choice to give Brock Lesnar a title shot: "he beat Mark Hunt"

Tom Taylor - July 9, 2018

Moments after UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic to capture the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 226, we learned that his next fight will pit him against former UFC heavyweight champion and long-time WWE star Brock Lesnar. Cormier called Lesnar out, Lesnar lumbered into the cage, and the pair engaged in a heated confrontation complete with plenty of bravado, cussing and even a few shoves.

How Brock Lesnar hijacked UFC 226

Jordy McElroy - July 8, 2018

UFC 226 was on the verge of being a historically underwhelming pay-per-view event, with the featherweight title bout being scrapped and the co-main event fight between Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis falling flat. Then Daniel Cormier grabbed the microphone, and Brock Lesnar stepped into the cage. The UFC clearly saved the best for last on Saturday night.

Daniel Cormier talks Brock Lesnar and USADA: "I’m not going to fight this man if he’s cheating"

Tom Taylor - July 8, 2018

With his heavyweight title-winning knockout of Stipe Miocic in the rear-view, UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier can now look forward to a massive money-fight with former UFC champ and current WWE star Brock Lesnar. Cormier and Lesnar are expected to battle for the UFC heavyweight title sometime before the year is out. Lesnar receiving a UFC heavyweight title shot is controversial for a number of reasons. There’s the fact that he hasn’t fought since 2016, and the fact that he hasn’t legitimately won a fight since 2010. And then, of course, there’s the fact that Lesnar failed a drug test after his last fight, a 2016 no-contest with Mark Hunt.

Chris Taylor - July 7, 2018

Tonight’s UFC 226 event delivered some great fights, fantastic finishes and the return of Brock Lesnar. Despite a terribly disappointing co-main event bout between Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou, tonight’s pay-per-view showcased some promotional history as Daniel Cormier was able to become the second “champ champ” in UFC history by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the main event.

Stipe Miocic not interested in potentially facing Brock Lesnar soon after UFC 226

Drake Riggs - June 21, 2018

Brock Lesnar’s return to the UFC feels inevitable. The current WWE star is still under contract as a champion with the organization but his deal is apparently set to expire sooner rather than later. UFC President, Dana White has already said himself that Lesnar will indeed fight in the UFC again. It’s now just a matter of when.

A Lesnar MMA return has been continually teased to us for the past so many months this year. Dana White hints at future Jon Jones vs. Brock Lesnar fight

Tom Taylor - June 11, 2018

Neither Brock Lesnar nor Jon Jones is currently eligible to compete in MMA. That said, UFC President Dana White seems to think the two superstars could meet in a superfight somewhere down the line all the same. “I know that Brock’s WWE deal is up at the end of the summer, I think,” White recently told TMZ. “I know he wants to fight so I’m sure we’ll end up getting that figured out.”
