Report: Ticket brokers taking a ‘record-setting loss’ on Mayweather vs McGregor

What many expect to be the richest fight in the history of combat sports is taking place on Saturday night as Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are set to meet in the boxing ring. The fight for the “Money Belt” will generate millions of dollars from the live event and pay-per-view sales.

While Mayweather and McGregor will be makings their millions for their time spent in the boxing ring, ticket brokers who were expecting to make a killing based on the expectations and hype of the event on the secondary ticket sales market are apparently in a deep hole that will surely take some time to get out of.

ESPN’s Arash Markazi tweeted on Thursday that he spoke with multiple ticket brokers on the matter.

Despite the pricey secondary market ticket prices to be in attendance for the live event, Markazi points out that it does not mean that the fight will not break all the financial records as far as combat sports go.
