UFC women’s flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield isn’t opposed to moving up in weight for a shot at gold. Erin Blanchfield has quickly emerged as a top contender in the 125-pound division. Back in February, Blanchfield earned a second-round submission victory over former UFC Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade. Thanks to the finish, “Cold Blooded” received her third “Performance of the Night” bonus.

UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko isn’t worried about Erin Blanchfield. ‘Bullet’ is slated to make her return this Saturday night at UFC 285 against Alexa Grasso. The bout will be Shevchenko’s first since defeating Taila Santos by split-decision last June. Following that bout, the Brazilian called for an instant rematch, but it didn’t come to fruition.

She’s fresh off a second-round submission finish over Jessica Andrade at UFC Vegas 69. The win earned Blanchfield a “Performance of the Night” bonus. Surging women’s flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield picked up the biggest win of her UFC career last Saturday when she submitted Jessica Andrade. Blanchfield (11-1 MMA) was returning to the Octagon for the first time since scoring an impressive first-round submission win over Molly McCann at November’s UFC 281 event. That victory had improved Blanchfield’s win streak to seven in a row, with four of those wins coming under the UFC banner.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 69, Erin Blanchfield headlined her first UFC event as she took on Jessica Andrade – who stepped up on short notice at women’s flyweight. Blanchfield was supposed to face Taila Santos but a week out the Brazilian withdrew and Andrade stepped up. Blanchfield entered the fight being a perfect 4-0 in the UFC and was coming off a submission win over Molly McCann. Andrade, meanwhile, had picked up a lopsided decision win over Lauren Murphy at UFC 283.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 69 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Jessica Andrade vs. Erin Blanchfield. The women’s flyweight main event proved to be a coming out party for Erin Blanchfield. The 23-year-old went toe-to-toe with the hard-hitting Brazilian for the first five minutes of the contest. Then in round two, Blanchfield was able to score an early takedown and quickly proceeded to take the back of the former strawweight champion. She proceeded to lock-up a rear-naked choke which forced Andrade to tapout.

Santos (19-2 MMA) was slated to return for the first time since suffering a split decision loss to Valentina Shevchenko last June at UFC 275.
