The Octagon returns to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 69 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Jessica Andrade vs. Erin Blanchfield. Blanchfield (10-1 MMA) was originally slated to meet Taila Santos (19-2 MMA) in tonight’s headliner. However, Santos was forced to withdraw from the contest last week, and thankfully Jessica Andrade (24-9 MMA) agreed to step in on short-notice and fill the void.

Taila Santos has been forced out of her fight with Erin Blanchfield at UFC Vegas 69 and Jessica Andrade has agreed to fill the void. Santos (19-2 MMA) was slated to return for the first time since suffering a split decision loss to Valentina Shevchenko last June at UFC 275. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case, as ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported the following news on Twitter:

There’s a new main event for UFC Vegas 69 later this month. The card is slated for February 18th and will be held at the UFC Apex. The card was originally slated to be headlined by a bantamweight clash between Cory Sandhagen and Marlon Vera. However, those plans have now changed.

Standing opposite the rising contender was fan-favorite Molly McCann. ‘Meatball’ was riding a three-fight winning streak, with two brutal knockouts coming in.

UFC women’s flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield has her eyes set on champion Valentina Shevchenko. The 23-year-old was last seen in action at UFC Vegas 56 last Saturday night. There, Blanchfield earned her sixth victory in a row, as she submitted J.J. Aldrich. The victory was her third straight inside the UFC octagon since being signed last April.

Blanchfield entered her UFC 269 fight against Miranda Maverick as the betting underdog but she dominated the fight to win a clear-cut decision. Although this was Blanchfield’s second UFC fight, she knew after the opening seconds of the fight, she would be able to control Maverick with ease.

Women’s flyweight prospect Erin Blanchfield has issued a statement after signing with the UFC and having her fight booked on short notice. Blanchfield is just 21 years old and she has already racked up a 6-1 record in mixed martial arts since making her professional debut in 2018. After starting off her MMA career with a TKO win in CFFC, Blanchfield was quickly scooped up by the all-women MMA promotion Invicta FC and she picked up two wins, including a majority decision victory over current UFC fighter Kay Hansen. After dropping a controversial split decision loss to Tracy Cortez, another current UFC fighter, Blanchfield returned to CFFC and picked up another stoppage win, before re-joining Invicta FC and picking up two more victories in that organization.
