Back in January, Henry Cejudo defended his flyweight title when he knocked out T.J. Dillashaw in 32 seconds. Following the fight, it was expected that Cejudo would move up in weight to rematch Dillashaw for the bantamweight title. However, news came out on Tuesday that Dillashaw will be suspended for a year for ‘adverse findings’ in his pre-fight drug test sample.

The UFC bantamweight division was flipped on its head today as TJ Dillashaw was notified of a potential USADA violation thus resulting in a one-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission. Because of that, the bantamweight champion relinquished his title thus making it vacant for a new champion to be decided in the next fight for the crown.

Regrettably, Cejudo’s stoppage victory was somewhat controversial, as some members of the MMA community felt the referee stepped in early. Dillashaw certainly feels this way — and apparently he told UFC President Dana White as much when the fight ended. “He just yelled at me while I was doing an interview when he walked by, ‘That’s bullshit,’” White said post-fight (transcript via MMA Fighting). “I thought it was an early stoppage too.
