Following his victory over “Suga”, Alvey proceeded to callout another former UFC champion in Vitor Belfort.

Disappointed Randa Markos calls close Alexa Grasso loss "discouraging sh*t"

Last night, in the co-main event of the UFC’s latest trip to Mexico City, Mexico, Randa Markos attempted to build on the momentum of a career-best defeat of former strawweight champion Carla Esparza with a win over highly regarded Mexican prospect Alexa Grasso. Though Markos was forced to take Grasso on in her home country, at altitude, and at a 119-pound catchweight due to Grasso’s weigh-in miss, she performed very well, giving her young foe plenty of problems. Unfortunately for the Canadian and her team, Grasso was ultimately awarded a split decision win. Needless to say, things didn’t go the way Markos planned. And while she seems to understand the fight was close, she feels she should have received the nod. The frustrated Canadian gave her assessment of the fight on Twitter, and also explained that she feels she deserved Fight of the Night honors – even if Grasso was ineligible due to her weigh-in miss.

After defeat of Rashad Evans, Sam Alvey targets another UFC legend

Last night, on the main card of the UFC’s latest trip Mexico City, Mexico, middling middleweight contender Sam Alvey picked up one of the biggest wins of his career, out-duelling former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans to a slow, but commendable split decision win. It did not take long for Alvey, who trains under the tutelage of MMA legend Dan Henderson, to call out the fighter he hopes to take on next: Vitor Belfort. Alvey made this callout in a conversation with MMAFighting.com, explaining that he hopes to defeat as many of Henderson’s former foils as possible on a “2017 vengeance tour.”

Paulie Malignaggi once again blasts "no balls" Conor McGregor

News that former two-division boxing champ Paulie Malignaggi would be helping UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor prepare for his August 26 boxing match with Floyd Mayweather was met with widespread intrigue and excitement. Unfortunately, things have taken a nasty turn since the pair’s latest sparring session, as Malignaggi has taken issue with the way he’s been portrayed by McGregor and his team. Last night, the UFC returned to sun-soaked Mexico City, Mexico with an exciting night of fights. While the main card was of course the focal point of the event, the undercard produced plenty of excitement too. One of the more exciting moments of this undercard occurred in an interesting flyweight bout between Dustin Ortiz and Hector Sandoval. Though Ortiz is known for his wrestling, he showed off some crackling hands in this fight, rocking an over-aggressive Sandoval with a counter, and polishing him off mere seconds later. Just 15 seconds into the fight, Ortiz was being pulled off his foe by the referee. Just like that, he’d authored the fastest finish in UFC flyweight history.

UFC reveals cast for The Ultimate Fighter 26

Last night, during the broadcast of the UFC’s latest trip to Mexico City, Mexico, the UFC announced the cast for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (season 26). Like the Ultimate Fighter season 20, which saw contenders battle to become the first-ever women’s strawweight champ, this season will see competitors vie for the inaugural UFC women’s flyweight title. The list of competitors for this latest season of the Ultimate Fighter includes several names that many fans will be familiar with, such as Barb Honchak, Roxanne Modafferi, and Lauren Murphy.

Last night, the UFC touched down in sun-soaked Mexico City, Mexico, with an exciting night of fights. In the main event, we were treated to a clash of young flyweight contenders, as Duke Roufus trained Sergio Pettis took on Mexico’s own Brandon Moreno. Though both fighters are very young – both 23 years old – this looked like it could be a flyweight number one contender fight, with the winner earning a shot at incredibly dominant champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson. In the end, it was Pettis that earned the win, braving some early adversity to recapture the momentum, and ultimately a unanimous decision win. Surprisingly, however, his immediate focus is not on a flyweight title shot.

UFC Fight Night 114: Sergio Pettis defeats Brandon Moreno

A key flyweight scrap between Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno served as the headlining bout of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 114 event in Mexico City. Round one begins and Moreno misses with an attempted low kick to start. He fires off another that lands. Moreno catches a Pettis low kick and uses that to score an early takedown. Moreno working from full guard here. Pettis traps an arm. Moreno pulls it free. Pettis scrambles but gives up his back. Moreno takes the back and locks in a body triangle. Brandon is looking for a rear-naked choke now. He switches to some punches and then resorts back to working for the submission. Pettis is able to avoid the choke. Moreno switches to punches. Pettis attempts to scramble but Brandon stays on his back. Brandon is working some strikes from the back. Ten seconds remain. The horn sounds to end round one.

UFC Fight Night 114 Results: Alexa Grasso defeats Randa Markos (Highlights)

A strawweight scrap between Randa Markos and Alexa Grasso served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 114 fight card in Mexico City. Round one begins and Grasso lands a kick to the body of Markos to start. Randa is circling looking for a way inside. Grasso with a nice left hand. Randa responds with a heavy right. Grasso eats it and fires off a low kick. Markos with another right hand. Alexa fires right back with a left. Randa leaps forward and lands a combination. She is scoring with a some big punches now. Randa pushes Alexa against the cage. She opts to let go of the clinch and begins to throw more leather. Alexa responds with a low kick. Randa with a right hand and then she circles out. Grasso presses forward and lands an outside low kick. Randa charges forward with a combination but nothing connects. Another good low kick from Alexa. Both women connect with left hands. Grasso with a left hook and then an uppercut. Randa might be stunned here. Grasso presses Randa against the cage and begins working some knees. Randa is bleeding. Grasso gets the fight to the floor and begins working some ground and pound. She takes the back of Markos. Randa scrambles and gets back to her feet. She presses Grasso against the cage. Grasso switches the position and lands some knees. Randa reverses and lands a left hook. The ladies break and round one comes to an end.

UFC Fight Night 114 Results: Niko Price TKO's Alan Jouban (VIDEO)

A welterweight scrap between Alan Jouban and Niko Price took place during tonight’s UFC Fight Night 114 main card in Mexico. Round one begins and Jouban lands a low kick. Price circles and then charges in with a combination that ends with a good right hand. Alan circles to his left and then fires off a low kick. He misses with a left hook and Price tags him with a right. Both men are trying to find their range early on. Jouban fires off a hard low kick. Price counters with a big right hand that sends Alan staggering backwards. Price with a head kick that puts Jouban down. Niko rushes in with a right hand. Jouban rolls and give up his back. More shots from Price. The referee steps in and stops the bout. That looked like an early stoppage.

The UFC announces two big fights for this fall

The UFC just announced two new exciting fights during tonight’s UFC Fight Night 114 broadcast from Mexico. The first bout announced by the promotion was a key light heavyweight bout featuring former title challenger Glover Teixeira taking on perennial contender Misha Cirkunov.
