Tim Welch, the head coach of Sean O’Malley, believes UFC 292 put some fear into Merab Dvalishvili. In the main event of UFC 292, Sean O’Malley became the UFC’s new bantamweight champion with a second-round TKO over Aljamain Sterling. In the corner of Sterling was Dvalishvili who is a top contender at bantamweight, who could be next in line to face O’Malley.

It was a great performance from ‘Suga’ and after the win, he called for his first title defense to be against Marlon Vera.

Yan and Sterling have a history as the two first met at UFC 259 in March of 2021 as the Russian was defending his bantamweight title for the first time. Yan had success early on as he dropped Sterling and was outstriking him. However, in the fourth round, he threw a knee to Sterling’s head while he was on the ground and was DQ’d and lost his belt.
