Breaking! Brock Lesnar receives his opponent for UFC 200

By Chris Taylor - June 6, 2016

This past weekend at UFC 199 in Los Angeles the UFC announced that former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to the octagon at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event in Las Vegas.

The promotion did not name an opponent for Lesnar that evening in Los Angeles (UFC 199), leaving fans across the world speculating as to who Brock would fight in his UFC return.

Today fans got that answer as UFC officials announced that “The Beast” would be squaring off with Mark Hunt on July 9 in Sin City.

Brock Lesnar has not stepped foot inside the octagon since his 2011 TKO loss to Alistair Overeem. The former UFC heavyweight title holder has spent the last four years working with the WWE. Lesnar’s most recent UFC victory came in July of 2010, when he submitted Shane Carwin in the main event of UFC 116.

Meanwhile, Mark Hunt (12-10-1 MMA) is coming off back-to-back first-round knockout victories which he scored over Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and former UFC champ Frank Mir respectively. All five of “The Super Samoan’s” most recent octagon victories have come by way of knockout.
