Lesnar fought fan-favorite heavyweight Mark Hunt, and while the fight was a highly anticipated one, the month leading to the bout wasn’t without controversy. It was announced at UFC 199 that Lesnar would fight Hunt at UFC 200, which was just one month away. It was revealed that Lesnar had been given an exemption from the mandatory testing period a fighter must go through in order to become eligible in the eyes of USADA.

Following his win over Hunt, it was revealed that not only did Lesnar fail a random pre-fight drug test, he also failed his fight night drug test, testing positive for a banned substance which his defense team blamed on a foot cream.

While there was much speculation as to how the situation would be handled given that there has been no further talk of Lesnar returning to the Octagon, we now have our answer.

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Lesnar will pay a $250,000 fine, and will serve a one-year suspension for the infractions. In addition, the win over Lesnar has now been overturned to a no contest.
