The Korean Zombie vows to finish “shameful” featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski following UFC 251

The Korean Zombie vowed to finish a “shameful” Alex Volkanovski after he won a controversial split decision over Max Holloway at UFC 251. Volkanovski won a split decision over Holloway to keep the UFC featherweight title, but it was a razor-thin fight that many thought he should have lost. Ultimately, the judges sided with Volkanovski, giving him the belt back with 47-48, 48-47, and 48-47 scorecards, though many fans, media, and even UFC president Dana White disagreed with the scores.

Eric Albarracin believes Korean Zombie wants to get revenge against Brian Ortega for slapping his friend, Jay Park. At UFC 248, Ortega was caught slapping Jay Park, a Korean singer, and friend of Chan Sung Jung’s. It immediately made Zombie mad and the two have gone back-and-forth at one another. Many fans were hoping a fight was imminent and for Zombie’s coach in Albarracin, he hopes that fight does happen.

Regrettably, Ortega was forced out of the matchup with a torn ACL, and replaced by Frankie Edgar. The Zombie went on to eat Edgar alive in the first round.

The two men, who were scheduled to fight back at UFC Busan before Ortega had to pull out due to injury, had been going back and forth at one another ever since UFC 248. At the event, “T-City” prompted a physical altercation with Korean Zombie’s friend and translator Jay Park as a result of Ortega believing Park was trying to instigate trash talk between them.

The ongoing feud between The Korean Zombie and Brian Ortega continues and today ‘Gracie Jiu Jitsu’ legend Rener Gracie was put under the gun. In case you missed it, this past weekend at UFC 248 Chang Sung Jung and T-City were involved in an altercation in the crowd. According to eye witness reports, and statements from both featherweight combatants, Ortega had slapped The Korean Zombie’s friend and manager Jay Park while Jung was taking a bathroom break.

The two featherweights have been connected to a matchup in the past and the fight seems like it could happen at some point this year given that both men need fights booked. In a UFC featherweight division that is stacked, both The Korean Zombie and Brian Ortega need to give winning to stay in title contention in a loaded weight class.
