It was during UFC 296’s main card this past Saturday night, that saw Strickland and Du Plessis get into a scrap in the crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The two fighters had to be separated, and Strickland was escorted out of the arena.

Colby Covington has called for a fight with Stephen Thompson following UFC 296. It was Colby Covington (17-3 MMA) vs. Leon Edwards (21-3 MMA) in a welterweight title fight this past weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The result was a unanimous decision victory for Edwards, who will retain the UFC welterweight belt.

Tony Ferguson has issued a statement after suffering his seventh consecutive loss at the hands of Paddy Pimblett last night at UFC 296. Ferguson (25-10 MMA) was looking to score his first win since defeating Donald Cerrone via TKO in June of 2019, when he took to the Octagon last night in Las Vegas. ‘El Cucuy’ had gone 0-6 over his previous six fights, a skid which included stoppage losses to Bobby Green, Nate Diaz, Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje.

The highly anticipated welterweight title fight proved to be a one-sided contest. Leon Edwards was able to dominate Colby Covington on the feet and even took the former interim champion down on two occasions. ‘Chaos’ had little to no success in the opening twenty minutes, but finally found some offense in the fifth and final round. However, it was far too little, far too late, and Edwards was awarded a lopsided unanimous decision victory.
