Cody Stamann is ready to be in hostile territory on Saturday. Stamann is set to take on UFC newcomer, Luan Lacerda at UFC 283 in Brazil as Lacerda gets to make his debut at home. Although Stamann has never fought in Brazil, he did corner his teammate Daron Cruickshank and is familiar with the Brazilian fans chanting ‘Uh vai morrer’ which translates to ‘You Will Die.’

After the fight has fallen apart two times previously, Stamann says he had some reluctance to accept the fight for the third time until Dvalishvili started to train at his gym and some of his training partners told him he would be able to win the fight with ease.

Cody Stamann will remain on the February 6 card but will not fight Merab Dvalishvili. Multiple sources have informed BJPENN.com that Andre Ewell has agreed to replace Dvalishvili and face Stamann on February 6. Contracts have yet to be sent out, but are expected to in the coming days. The event will also take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

An intriguing bantamweight bout between Merab Dvalishvili and Cody Stamann has been added to a UFC Fight Night card on February 6. Dvalishvili and Stamann were originally scheduled to lock horns back on the December 5 card in Las Vegas, but Stamann was forced out of the fight and he was replaced by Raoni Barcelos, who also had to withdraw from the card. However, now that Stamann is able to compete again, the UFC matchmakers decided to go ahead and re-book Dvalishvili vs. Stamann. The two bantamweights will now collide on February 6 on the undercard of the Alistair Overeem vs. Alexander Volkov event.

A featherweight bout between top-15 bantamweight contenders Cody Stamann and Jimmie Rivera is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Island event on July 15. MMAFighting.com’s Mike Heck reported that the UFC has booked a featherweight bout between Stamann and Rivera for the July 15 card set for Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Both fighters will be competing up a weight class due to the short-notice nature of the book, as the fight takes place just a week from now.

One of the fights fans were looking forward to seeing most on Saturday night at UFC on ESPN 7 was a bantamweight fight between Cody Stamann and Song Yadong. While the fight featured a solid game plan from Stamann against a 2-1 favored opponent in the dangerous Yadong, it was mired in controversy following the reading of the judges score cards. Stamann, along with many members of the MMA community, believed he had done enough to get the nod against Yadong. However, one judge scored it for Stamann, while the others scored it an even 28-28 to lead to a majority draw — the first of two draws on the night.

UFC bantamweight contender Cody Stamann believes the judges did him wrong at UFC Washington, D.C. and now he wants the UFC to make things right. Stamann and Song Yadong fought to a controversial majority draw, with the judges scoring the bout 29-27 Stamann, 28-28 and 28-28. Those score tallies include a one-point deduction to Yadong in the first round for an illegal knee, meaning Stamann would have actually lost a split decision had referee Kevin Mulhall not taken that point away. Instead, he ended up with a draw, though many observers felt Stamann did enough to win.
